Snook and redfish are being caught around docks and backwater but no hard runs that I know of. Pompano and cobia have been caught although they have been very scarce.
Bottom fishing offshore has produced some snapper and grouper in the fifty and over depths.
Shrimp for the snapper and live pinfish for the grouper have been top baits.
keep the pinfish and other small baitfish or junk fish off your line.
We have been catching Sea trout up to 24” and almost as many keeper size trout as under size.
In the mix of fish, we have been catching bluefish, flounder, pompano, black sea bass, snapper, Spanish mackerel, jacks, ladyfish and some nice but short grouper.
The bar runs east and west across the entire north end of the bay, except for the ICW cut.
Helicopter Bar: GPS 2733.937 - 8236.916 Shoal marker on east end of bar. Drift the grass for trout.
This shoal runs west to within a 1/2 mile of the shore line.
